The story behind the lens...

The joys of being on safari! It's so easy to get caught up in the excitement of trying to spot one of the big cats that people often don’t revel in the wonder of the beautiful bird species endemic to the Masi Mara. I often advise new safari guests to get into birdwatching, as if you are always scanning the horizons for birds, it will also help you find the leopards or cheetahs sightings you dream about. It also helps keep things exciting on those quieter or slow game drives, there are always birds to keep things exciting. This safari was exactly that and we hadn’t seen anything all morning until we drove up to this Long-Crested Eagle. Lady Luck was smiling on us, the Long-Crested Eagle's unique crest and striking profile made for gorgeous subjects to photograph.
